If wimbledon want the arrangement to work, then this would be a great time for a work around.
Lines can be scrubbed, pitch can be given extra TLC and skolars can be bought.
Skolars would expect 400 if head to head against a broncos game. Bing them £15k and they'd soon forget Hughes bullshit attitude to them.......and as you keep banging on, Wimbledon get paid based on crowd numbers....so aim for 5k....
Every kids side and amateur club invited.....a proper festival of RL in the capital live on bbc
The only negativity I've heard regarding the Broncos from AFC Wimbledon fans concerns the markings on the pitch. They were told they wouldn't be seen. In truth they do look horrible on TV.
I also surprised they can't clean them up easily; they've done a pretty rubbish job so far.
To be honest they need to sort it after the Challenge Cup match. I'm guessing the match will be live on BBC2 (rather than red button). Although Rugby League doesn't cause much damage, it's probably not wise to put two matches six days before.
At the Broncos SGM the was discussion of the impact of a third team groundshare (e.g. another football team) and the answer was yes, but it would require a lot more maintenance and ground staff. In fairness to the football club they agreed to rent out the ground for (13 to 15 matches was their estimate) and not to incur extra costs for heavy usage. It's not their job to promote London Rugby; and they would only get two weeks notice that the Skolars are playing at home (haven't the Broncos pinched all their players!)
