Listening to an extremely disjointed commentary due to problems with internet. My thoughts :
I. Good half time result Ii. Should win comfortably now they are down to 12 Ii is. Meadows getting rave reviews Iv. Giving away too many penalties Vi. Get anyone off with any kind of knock, next weekend now key
This coming weekend could be a "campaign Killer" and we will need everyone fit and fast. Toulouse are no mugs, but if we can get ahead of them comfortably then we need to be clever with the use of the bench, because Leigh will coast their Friday game. They appear to have turned a corner (as we all knew they would) ad they will be full-on ready for us on the Sunday. 2 Wins and were in the Qualifiers.......1 win and we're still looking good, but 2 losses and it's a whole new ballgame!
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
Really Hope Sammut is fit for Friday, its a huge game, and as good a talent as Meadows is, we need Jarrod back for those 2 games. Have to win at least 1 of the 2, to keep run going, then need to stay focused for the Fax game
[quoteWe were more than a bit concerned when Cunningham went off injured as it looked bad, but he came back on later and showed no ill effects.][/quote]
Sounded serious on the radio, but clearly not. Full strength for weekend is important!
Any other negatives from the game? Does not sound like Dixon is as good with the boot as Sammut, 2 points could be vital in games against the better teams. What were the penalties for? Our dominant penalty is slowing down the PTB, I thought in round 1 and 2 we had got over that but the last couple f home games it seems to have crept back in.
The ref did seem to like the sound of this whistle- penalised both teams for any mucking around at the ruck equally. Thought apart from last 10 minuites whwn we seemed to switch off it was a good solid performance
