These two games show what a gulf there is between the top two and the rest. Even with the salary cap the distance between the top teams and lower seems to be growing. Saints looked like they were in a different league to out Watson coached plodder side. Their speed, execution and defence were far superior to ours, and with our current crop i will be suprised if we make the playoffs this year, as anticipated we have noone at all in the middle of the park who has the speed off the mark or ability to attack the line and cause disruption in the opposition line. Clunes looks like more of the same, a decent distributor and kicker but not smone who will attack the line. Oh for someone of the ilk of Stanley Gene, Brandon Costin, Danny Brough, Luke Robinson, who could exploit a forward getting their nose through the line and attack. Wigan in the WCC were utterly ruthless and unlike Watson in the CC final, continued to try to strike the killer blow even when ahead. The kick through for French, even though fractionally offside, shows what a champion team does when ahead, go for the throat. We curled up into a ball in the CC final , 20 minutes from the end of the game, turning the ball tamely over and trying to defend to a win. With more guts that game was ours for the taking and i will never forgive Watson for ruining the once in a generation chance we had for silverware on that day with his horrible negative tactics. Never mind Watson, you will be on your way soon enough, the team you have assembled is total gash, with no exciting players to watch and so little flair in the spine. Another season of mediocity and failure should see you gone. |

Watson is the second longest serving coach in Superleague so can't say he hasn't been backed by the club if anything he has been overbacked with many signings blocking the potential route for academy players ie Bibby,Livett,Savelio.Whilst Watsons 'process' may work against lesser teams it is hopeless against the big clubs as shown on Saturday.I find it paticularly annoying that two of Wigan's winning team on Saturday are products of our academy and two further academy products are good enough to play in the NRL all play in positions we are paticularly weak in. |

We were totally conned by thinking the way Salford played was down to him, clearly it was not. I have never seen a more boring Huddersfield side in all the years i have watched them. He keeps buying the same boring, defensive minded slow spine players. As you say, we had Jake Wardle at this club, who left because he wasn't played in the CC final. Watson thought there were two better centres at the club than him! What attacking player would want to come here and be coached by 'Mr Process'. As i say he will be gone by middle of year probably when it's obvious we wont make the playoffs again. |
