Another two years for the big man! When he signed i had my doubts about his ability to produce the goods at his age and not give away so many penalties as he seemed to do at Warrington. He has surpassed my expectations by a mile and stayed penalty free. Him, Yates and McQueen have been immense and when they had Levi at hooker last year that's about the best Fartown pack i've witnessed. We may well have won the CC final without him getting injured in the first half last year.

He seems to be super dedicated and i have no doubt he can keep up his standards a while longer at least, even his warm ups are impressive! The only caveat for me to him signing is the loss of opportunities for Wilson, English and Rushton who are all great up and coming props, we have already had Trout look elsewhere.

Such a shame that if we lose tomorrow this season is a right off already as he and McQueen wont get many more chances.

Just watched Watson's stream and was dismayed to see we are interested in Adam Milner. Never rated him when he was in his prime, and if that is where we are now looking for a replacement hooker it is clear Watson has no intention of learning from his mistakes. Another plodder (and not a very good one either) who is all effort and very little pace or skill. Cas are going terribly this year and don't wan't to retain him, doesn't that tell you something!? Would be a truly horrible signing, imagine him and Peats spelling dummy half, wow.

Milner signs on a 1 year loan deal with imminent effect.

Kruise leeming became available and according to watson we 'Have plenty of options at nine, Peats and O'Brien, don't need him'. Two months later a much much worse nine Milner is available and suddenly we do actually need another nine. A terrible signing to cover a worse signing (Peats). Still can't believe we are stuck with an overseas spot wasted for THREE years on him.

Cas let him go early because they weren't going to offer him a new contract and we snap him up. Watson's signings go from bad to worse. Milner is a downgrade on O'Brien for me.

Last examiner i read Watson was claiming our squad is not good enough, he then adds to it by signing a 31 year old who isn't good enough for Cas who are worse than we are.
He's giving off all the signs of a man panicking and blaming the men he has signed. At least we scored some points last week so maybe things are looking up, We can expect another mauling at Newcastle despite our record in the magic weekend and i feel that if we lose tomorrow we shall end up in the relegation fight instead of the playoffs which is what all the talk was when the season started .
It was all about what a big impressive squad we had put together and how we were a cast iron sure thing to be one of the favorites, now its all about how our players aren't good enough and how we have been hit with injuries ( just like all the other sides ) Well more and more people i talk to about the Giants are really disappointed with Mr Watson and don't like the way he is so quick to blame others when he is the one who signed most of them.
Surely we can win tomorrow night, if not we deserve to be in the relegation fight, hopefully this is the match where we start to turn things around

Leeming was not available though. Do you not think he had already sorted his move to Australia before he asked to be released.

Yes Watson really does have a track record of signing poor players like
Levi
Jones
Hill
Rushton
Halsall
Greenwood
Ikahhfho
Naiquama
Marsters
Yates
Fages

Yes things have been tough the last few weeks but the squad is more than capable of turning things around,

I never said Leeming was available, i made the point that Watson said we didn't need a hooker at that time, but suddenly now we do. It is now rumoured that he will be a Catalan player next year btw, doubt we even tried to get him here he's not Watsons boring style. Out of those signings all the good ones are forwards and most of those he already knew from Salford. Marsters is not a good signing, he looks impressive but he has scored one try so far and doesn't seem to have a pass in him to be able to create them for his winger either. Naiqama is a very short term signing as he is already 34 and Fages is always injured. Halsall is ok, but i would much rather have had Miski if we were going for fringe Wigan players rather than him and Bibby.

If you look at the time Watson has been here Wardle, Leutele, Levi, Cesar have all left, they have been replaced with far inferior players and we now have a real lack of pace and ability in the backs. The worst thing is that he keeps signing more of the same players, it feels like the period during which we started signing Bradford players and transitioning into a championship side all over again.

Milner has now signed on a deal that may lumber him with us until 2024, having already signing Peets for 3 years. This is not how you build a side for the future signing deadwood that then encumbers you going forward. I am close to stopping watching until Watson goes as i hate the way we play and he is making us slower and more boring to watch all the time.

As regards to turning things around, lets see how we do in the next 5 games after Cas, we now have our first choice 'settled' spine to choose from, the only injury is Russell, who isn't even superleague standard. No more excuses available.
