Not sure on this one. Don’t see we are getting g the better deal. Wire fans have been slating king this year.
Can only imagine wardle wants more game time and isnt happy about not getting it.
Talk at wigan he’s moving on there next season.
A loss if so but if his attitude is not right then we know how Watson works and will want to move him out.
Ashworth Roberts and now wardle. Hmmm.
Just hope leutele is staying!

Wardle always had that potential but feel we're still waiting to see it. This year leutele and cudjoe have been ahead of him. If he gets a decent run I'm sure he'll develop into the player he can become. Can't blame him moving on if that's the case.

Regarding Toby King, before he resigned with wire he was a very good player. If anyone can get the best from him it's Watto. Maybe a fresh start is what King needs.

Very sad to see Wardle go, but if he's not happy here then so be it.

On the other hand - welcome home Toby King.

Here's a lad who cheered Fartown on (in full replica kit) from being a youngster. Claret & Gold in his blood and I think we will be seeing that in his performances!

Toby King from the limited views this season has been very poor. Maybe a new coach can unlock his undoubted talent.

I think people read more into this than there actually is with some suggesting there must have been a fall out. Wardle played for England last week. Shaun Wane said afterwards he needed to be playing regular rugby at centre to get into the World Cup squad. His agent/advisors probably brought this up with the Giants. They are clearly not in a position to promise this. Therefore to keep his World Cup hopes alive he probably asks for the move. The club hardly stand n his way and if they can get a quality replacement in return everyone benefits.
I also think King will go very well under Watson. He is more of an attacking threat than Cudjoe and just as good in defence so has a real chance of displacing him in the starting 13.

I'm not sure how 'available' he actually was for the CC final, but i would imagine that him not being picked for it had a large bearing on his decision. He is no doubt thinking that if he is good enough for England, how can he not be good enough to play as first choice at club level. Personally i would have put him in this year over Cudjoe simply because he is the future, but i understand that sends a bad message to the team. A fully fit Wardle who can string a long set of games together is an absolute asset, sadly he has been very injury prone throughout his career and continues to be so. If he stays injury free at Wire it will look like a bad decision, but he could continue being in and out with injuries and not play much and it will look like a good one. Time will tell.

I hope a move home is a catalyst for Toby King to realise his undoubted potential, i do think he is a good fit for Watson's style. Will he play centre or Second Row? I am more excited about him than Jake Bibby to be honest.

With leutele going off injured in the game against KR it looks like king may well get a chance as early as next week against castleford!
I agree he’s a more interesting choice than bibby.

Not really sure what has happened to TK and as people have said on here and on the Wire forum, since he signed his new contract his form has nose dived. Prior to that he was in pretty decent form and nudging a GB squad spot. Hopefully for his sake Watson can find a way to unlock that potential and get him playing again. The rumour mill would suggest that we only have Wardle until the end of the season if he is going to Wigan but that might be enough games to get him in the GB squad which I assume must be his target.
Wishing Toby all the best with the Giants.

What's the general feeling on Toby King now he is a few games in?

From a Wire perspective Wardle has been found out a couple of times in terms of his defensive positioning, but in terms of attack seems much more dangerous and a more classic centre to King with good pace and hands.

I'm hoping we can make the deal a permanent one, but Wigan fans seem quite sure Wardle has signed for them in 2023...

For my money I wouldnt have King within yards of our team. The quicker he goes back to Warrington the better for me. Don't know what will happen to Jake though , there is talk of him going to Wigan but we shall see. I am just happy that Leutele has been named in the squad for Thursday and he plays instead of King.
