Watson seemed to play a smart subs game last night which really worked well against FC. Also sets up up for a tough week coming up. Trout didn’t play so I expect him to feature. Lawrence only came on for the final 3 minutes so I expect him to play also. Yatesy had a spell on the bench to keep him fresh?. I wonder whether he will perhaps rest McQueen / jones as Roberts isn’t in the reserves game today.
Mason hewitt stevens and ashworth are playing in the reserves. I did wonder whether he might play mason.
Obviously a tougher game on Monday which I suspect he will want to keep his best side for. Difficult to know how he will play this one. Leeds are t going well but will be desperate for the win.
Any news on wardle anyone?

russell back in the squad - wonder how watson will go with that one!
Jerry in there too.
can see him rotating a few forwards - surprised not to see roberts in the squad to that end.
will he put AOB in to allow levi a rest in prep for Monday?
exciting isnt it!

Looks like being a stronger squad to that won the quarter final on Saturday. Leeds will come good one day but can see the Giants having far to much for them to be honest.

Notice Sezer has wimped out. Deja-vu behaviour from him tbh, doesn’t want to be involved when the side is losing. Shame as I was looking forward to him getting some stick on Thursday night.

Well the worst game we have played this season but yet we somehow managed to salvage a point. Mixed feelings tbh. I thought we were poor in the first half.
Overall very soft up the middle, Leeds seemed to be punching holes quite easily, getting through gaps and offloading with ease. we then looked devoid of ideas when pressing on Leeds line, although credit Leeds defended well and were up quick (oledski must teleport if he wasn’t offside!!!!!!) , but they just needed to defend man on man as we were just passing down the line, and one up stuff, no second phase runners or switch inside passes. We seem to have plenty of possession early on but far too many errors- be interesting to see our completion rate. We also have away far too many silly penalties to help Leeds to the field.
Fages was targeted all game, Leeds ran at him constantly and always hit just that fraction after he’d kicked. And not once was he allowed to stay on his feet after he’d kicked the ball- quite slimy tactics there.
BUT to stick to our guns and score twice in two minutes was awesome so that was definitely to be applauded. something that wouldn’t have happened last year for sure.
We must do better than that going forward, let’s hope that was this seasons blip.
Looks like we lost English to a hip injury when he hit the post to defend a try, hopefully everyone else comes through unscathed.
On to saints

I see Tetevano gets a two match ban for smashing Fages after the ball has gone. The Ref gave nothing on the night , if he gives us a penalty we take the two points and a win with the golden point rule. I don't normally moan about Refs as they have their job to do but that guy had me swearing and watching in disbelief at some of his decisions

Don’t know whether you have seen the minutes from the disciplinary but it certainly backs up what I was saying about Leeds’ tactics. Interestingly Not one Huddersfield player was cited in the match review panel. Leeds had 6 cited. 4 of those were for late hits on the kicker/passer. So certainly tactics were employed there!
I’m not sure that the 2 game ban was for that one at the end when fage went down looking at the time on the minutes but it’s difficult to tell as it’s not game time it’s video time. But with us going into golden point time I’d expect it to be further on compared to some of the others.
