Post subject: | What is our strongest squad? |
Been thinking about our situation and I don't actually know what our strongest squad is! I'm not surprised we are struggling when we either have injured players or players who play 8/10 one week then 4/10 for the following 3 weeks. We have potential, but are inconsistent, we have no resilience or leadership. So what would your first 17 be? We normally play this game at the start of the year but 2/3rds of the way through the season I still don't know. FB - Grix or Darnell? Grix is a 5/6 every week, who knows what Darnell will be can be a 9 can be a 1 Wings - Jerry enough said. Left wing no idea, maybe a fit Uate, we've not seen him, I think the Seniors are improving but still not ready. Maybe Jake on the wing after his few games there last year? Centres - hopefully Cudjoe refinds his form, if so then Turner and Cudjoe, for me Turner has been one of our best this year. Jake solid but not spectacular, we seem to keep our centres fit. Id be tempted to run Uate here for a few games 6 - Gaskell every day of the week 7 - No idea, on this season I'd go with Russell, hopefully Holmes might take his chance tomorrow. Frawley consistently a 4/10, he's OK in defenxe, I've not seen enough personally in attack. Props - Clough and.... Seb can't be bothered defending, he just wants to run sideways and slap people, Matagi runs hard but can be lazy, Matty works his socks off but has to do too much at his age, if he plays into his 30s without head problems I'll be amazed. Taai should be a SR. Walne started the season well, need him back fit. Hooker - kruise starting and AOB off the bench, Kruise like Darnell 9 one week 1 the next. SR - Nobody is shining for me other than Joe Wardle, I'd love us to run out with Joe and Taai at SR, Mellor solid 6 every week, Roberts God knows what's happened, Fergy might come good if he can stay fit. Murphy there to tackle, not enough going forward. Hewitt will come good Loose - Bruno or Fergy or a combination of both for me, people have mentioned Turner but we'll never have a situation where we have 3 centres fit, plus I'd imagine he'd be less effective if he's running at the forwards and making 50 tackles a game. Taai would be solid here On that basis I'd probably pick Darnell Jake Turner Leroy Jerry Russell Gaskell Clough Leeming Walne Joe Taai Bruno AOB English Fergy A Prop |
