What you mean like previously :roll:

If they’d done that in the first place they wouldnt need this stupid ruling. IMO they are just opening themselves up to these rules being manipulated a different way.

They brought this in at the beginning of last season when it was happening a lot, and then forgot they had brought it in.

What they should have done is used common sense judgement from the start.
They have to answer one question:
Is the defender actively trying to remove themselves from the ruck area without deliberately impeding the attacking side?
Yes - play on
No - penalty to the attacking side
Yes but is being deliberately impeded from doing so -penalty to the defending side.

Simples!

already seen the benefits .... number of occasions where players would have tried conning the refs in two games i have seen since changes but the players are actually playing the game the right way now :thumb:

And at least twice against Wigan Milner hung about at the side of the ruck preventing wigan from having a choice of which way to play the ball....
