8th place would be decent with the start we are likely to get once again in 2019...

can see us going first 6 without a win and once again being under pressure later on but i suppose with only one relegation place and no middle 8's anymore there could be alot of meaningless games for us later on

Personally I don’t think you can read a great deal into this first game first game, plenty of time yet. What I don’t get is this theory that you will magically have a better late season - on what logic?

On the logic we currently have leroy, Jerry, Clough, Gaskell, taai, Murphy, out; all of whom would have played last night. Neither did we have young wardle, Ferguson, Roche or Holmes, who would have been our second choice back ups for four of those players. Those players are due back in the next couple of months. HTH.
