Thanks for the memories Danny. Great to have your best years- and no matter what anyone thinks of your temperament- you always always gave a toss! |

He’s been a great player over past few years and carried the team at points but I’m quite glad he’s gone personally |

Devastated about this. Can't believe we have let him go, always thought he would finish his career with us. |

A club legend and he always gave 100%. I have felt for a year or two we needed a fresh start from Danny to move the club forward and we have got it now. Woolford has really given the club a shake up. Imagine if Stone was here? I'd be a very worried man next year with the 1 up and 1 down, that's for sue. The fact they haven't announced Grix as a new signing suggests we haven't finished our transfer business yet. 3 more to go and 2 more to come in, hopefully. |

As many have said, Legend in the C&G, and been at the heart of the revival of recent years. However, i was distraught when we signed him on a 1 year extension last year when he was going to be 36 , this lets us move forward with a new era sooner rather than later and full credit to Woolford for insisting on that. I would be fuming i were a Wakefield fan signing a 36 year old on a 2 year contract, never seen such a terrible case of short-termism, i guess they think they can win something with him at the helm, anything less would simply be disrupting a team on the up! |

OK so to put this into perspective, Dannys best years are behind him but thst does not take away his brain and his kicking game. His brain can explode at times granted but thats what you get with Danny. What we get is his kicking esp in open play something we were weak at last season. We have 3 other halves with Miller Hampshire and Reynolds, you may disagree but thats some goid quality there. With Danny to provide game management then CC is obviously looking at taking the club higher than 5th. So Brough will be taking a leading role developing the other halves. Now look at yourselves, yes some for Danny leaving some against it. He will leave a gap in your attack and game management. You have brought in a young NRL half my experience of Aussies etc is that it generally tskes a season to bed in. You have lost a game manager and it may or may not show time will tell. I expect Danny to move into a coaching type role as Grix is rumoured for yourselves. Oh and Scott is a great addition to yourselves much the same as Brough to us but a different position but a similar age. Finally rumours of the deal indicate Wakefield have done prettg well in this. |

But from what I know as I was talking to him the other day is that he didn’t want to leave |

we gave him one, wildcats gave him 2 years, cant blame him taking another year so he can play till 2020 grix coming as a coaching capacity is a good move, the guy is a workaholic and ultimate pro and can bring the next full back on whether that be mcintosh i dont know |

From what I saw last season, the club may now develop a lot faster. The younger players looked scared to make mistakes around him and the way that he had a go at players who did make mistakes was disgusting. I've loved seeing him play for the Giants and he will go down as a great, but it's time to move on for the good of the club |
