hes gone to toronto and joined his former coach

we have got a fee for him, not sure if we will be spending it !

izaac farrell will step up no from the under 19s and poss play this sunday and partner gaskell at half back

does this mean brough will stay out his contract till 2018 now.....

Not sure l,m happy about this, lads not been given a fair crack, not done much wrong, pace to burn which we need, ala Broughton, probably like Broughton he,s at the wrong club. Long contract, got a fee, so free up some cap, lets hope we spend the cash wisely, not our forte, at least someone? is trying to do something ?

It will be interesting to see his progress with the Toronto club, I think it is a smart move for him, he was never going to do anything for us taking into account the style of game we play. We need a creative player far more than we need a poacher.

I hope he goes well for them, he has lots of pace, and he was the one player you could guarantee would be there for the offload, hopefully Mamo is going to do that now.

Will anyone watch Toronto winning 100+ every week. I was at Crusaders on Friday and a bigger than average gate saw people leaving at half time because it was basically boring one side totally out classing another and using bully boy tactics if Cru actually had the audacity to do anything decent.

If Toronto were say Workington I'm sure their support would happily see them trounce everyone on the way to Super League as say Rangers did in Scotland when they were put in Division 3 but is it a product that can be sold to people who don't understand the game and by the time they do get competitive games in Canada will anyone care as they might have given up RL as a poor game to watch long before then.

They could have done what they are aiming to do on a fraction of the money, given the Toronto public a lot of good games to watch and still seen them go up.

Didn't work out for him at our club for what ever reason. He's not taken his chances well for me and has not shown the good form needed to keep out other players. Other than the Wigan game it's difficult to remember anything he's done really.

Perhaps youve hit the nail square on there fella !
Perhaps if we played more expansive rugby a la Cas it would be far more attractive and productive
Ex Players like Broughton Eden and Brierley could be USED to their full abiliy and potential instead of being stifled and discarded as "surplus to requirements" instead of giving thought to HOW they could best be used
The methods and style weve adapted arent bearing much reward at the moment
Perhaps its our "STYLE" as you mention that requires examination and not the "remodelling" of players
UUm - interesting food for thought!

But changing our style to fit two players isn't going to work for the majority is it.

Changing our style might win us a game. We actually look good when we throw it about, back a few seasons ago we easily defended our errors and just had fun.

Trying to be structured in Super League isn't right good when most teams are better than it than you.

On Brierly. I'm sad to see a young half back with bags of confidence leave our club, probably feeling abit worse than he was when he arrived.
Such is sport. I hope Rick has a plan.
Losing him at this point in the season is risky. Gaskell touch wood is doing okay with injuries so far and Danny Brough can't go a week without being banned.

interesting we paid leigh 50k to bag brierley, think we have got near enough most of that back

when we signed brierley i thought he may be the long term replacement for brough, didnt work out that way!

full back didnt go too well and neither did half back with brough

would we have been better keeping brierley for the future and working with him and get rid of brough instead?

never worked well for scotland with brough and brierley either.... was brought the problem?

maybe brierley just wasnt good enough, maybe we will find out in years to come, can see why he would want to return to playing under his former coach and he will go down a storm in that league and the championship next season.

he actually had a great try to game ratio for us, 15 in 25 i think !

thanks for scoring those tries at hull kr ryan and helping to keep us in sl..... i suppose in that sense he was worth the punt!

If we are in the market for an English half back Ryan Hampshire currently not playing at Leigh could be worth a shot
