Post subject:  TOP 8 - OVER.

Thats top 8 completely out of the window now and if anyone thinks otherwise you really need to get into the real world. Can anyone tell me when they think our next realistic game of getting 2 points is going to come from?????

We cannot finish off a break for the life in us. The only player capable of support play is Brierley and he can't get in the team.

We are utterly garbage at decision making and management of games. We score a try then let let ball go dead straight from the restart.

Great break by Roberts but extremely greedy as he had 2 chances to pass for a guaranteed try. THAT was the turning point in the game as we and we only can then concede a try within the next 10 seconds.

Getting very sick of Danny Brough now... I understand his frustration but getting sin binned the last 2 games in crucial games is poor at letting the side down massively. Follwed by his ridiculous pass which finished the game off.

Positives - a couple of decent breaks Ikahhihifo, Mellor and Roberts and Mamo looks like he could be good when fit.

However, Rick Stone is not the man for this job. The style of rugby we play ANYONE could coach.

If Rick had any decency he would make a statement tonight saying " we are not good enough for top 8 and thats clear our sim is to stay in Super League"

Drop the dross like Hinchliffe etc and get the young lads like Adam O Brien in instead.

I think you are harsh on roberts, he made the break but was being chased down and had a couple of black shirts around him-- what he didn't do was what the rest have been doing and that's force a pass that's not really on and instead drops into the hands of the opposition. It was early in the tackle count and he put us in a very good position to get a quick orb then someone else messed up.
If you are talking greedy then mamo was the one for that tonight- yes he looked bright- but often only looked to put himself in a good position there was a simple pass outside to Jerry in the first half and he decided to take on the line and die with the ball, looked to do similar later in the second half too- the communication between him and Darnell was awful. He was nowhere at all for Catalans second try. I hope he was just looking to impress in his first game.
If I were Stone I'd drop brough for wire- and swinton. Let him steam a bit ready for cas.
Hopefully Leroy and taai will be back on Monday, symonds and taai second row, mellor practising some tackling.

Symonds knee gone again, doubt he will play for a while, came over with knee injury and been managing it until lately

yeh id say top 8 is looking unlikely now

we may aswell just rest players unless they are 100% fit and prepare for the middle 8's battle.. sure widnes will be doing to same and poss leigh nearer the time

not good news on symonds, such an important player for us but didnt look fit lastnight

neither does mcgillvary, infact he looks disinterested at the moment!

Dragons winger got round McGilvray with only a yard between him and the touchline, Left gerry on the deck, Defence has never been his strongest point, but i agree with you something is just not right with him at the moment.

That's a very good point jools, why are we playing injured players when everyone knows we are going to get knowhere this season, We might just as well lose with backup players in the team as injured ones, give them at least half a chance to get right for the inevitable fight for survival.

Absolutely true. Is an injured mcgilvary a better option right now than a fully fit ormsby. Possibly not. And more importantly is a fully fit mcgilvary a better option in the middle 8s than one that's constantly playing injured... definitely
