Erm, what is the point in this thread?

There are idiots that follow rugby just like there are idiots that follow football.

I'm sure if we ever get a 20k+ attendance the police will have some kind of exit strategy outlined.

They will have a police strategy outlined for Giants games, it just wont involve anything like as many police.

Danril, I know the point you are trying to make, but do you think there are as many police at say...Wembley for the CC final as there will be for Town v Leeds?

No, there wont but it's no reason to make generalisations about the supporters of other sports. We're quick to moan when we have aspersions cast about us so giving this sort of jip out is a bit hypocritical. Besides, plenty of folk follow both sides which equates to criticism of Huddersfield RL Fans.

Football is the #1 sport in this country so it automatically follows there will be more police and equally there will be less police at other sports in a similar way to RL. RU for example; another sport we like to dump on and vice versa!

Funnily enough the worst disorder by fans at the stadium was actually at a Rugby League match.

But that said Saturday is a big game not just because it's Leeds but also it's a local derby and a clash of two teams fighting for promotion.

Having seen the strategy for this match you would think we are marshalling animals. But the 4000 Away fans will probably the most well behaved set of fans we could ever get as each one is vetted and have a membership card which if they were to cause trouble would exclude them from future games both home and away. The most trouble would be from the home fans knowing the away fans reputation trying to provoke them into some kind of disorder. Or even the few away fans, without membership cards, in the home areas. Yet the strategy is all about the south end and keeping the fans apart.

I've read the Town fans upset because they can't exit through the south end and have been asked to either leave via the north or stay in their seats. Most saying that they are treated worse than Leeds fans but ateotd noone is being forced to stay in their seats. The only enforcement is not going through the south end, an enforcement which in an emergency people would adhere to, yet the Town fans don't like it!

Not happy unless they're moaning about something, perhaps they're not so different eh...

its daft, if they are going to cause trouble they will cause trouble. the trouble was in the town centre last year. and the stupid police didnt have a clue last year. coming out of the dg upper, i turned left and went up the hill heading towards the coach park, where i met a line of police sepporating the leeds and town fans, obviously not thinking about it, beacause leeds fans need to get to there coaches, which meant crossing the town fans. just no organisation. and im sure it will be the same again. :MOON:

It won't be like last year. You won't be able to turn left and go up the hill towards the coaches, well until the coaches are full and gone. Kilner bank on the other hand can go through st andrews top car park coming down turning left.
