Anyone ever wondering how much the Giants owe kendavy should look at this.

Rl finacially is not worthwhile except for one or two clubs.

Below is figures for 2008 complied by someone on the Hull board

Right, accounts filed for 2008: Leeds is a subsidiary of Caddick, so no separately filed information, but understand they make a profit.

Hull FC PROFIT £185,000

Bradford - Loss £17,000
Warrington - Loss £212,000
Cas - Loss £369,000
Saints - Loss £449,000
Rovers (2007) Loss £478,000
Wigan - Loss £592,000 (although debt they owed being written off of £1,175,000 gave them a net profit of £444,000)
Salford - Loss £832,000 (underwritten by Wilkinson)
Huddersfield - Loss £1,377,000 (underwritten by Ken Davy)
Harlequins - Loss £1,819,000 (underwritten by Lenegan and D Hughes)

If anyone has any conflicting information i would love to know it.

last years figures should hopefully be beter with the cup run and 3rd place figure. ( although that may be offset by cheap season tickets.)

I cannot vouch for the veracity of the figures but it does say to me that as supporters we need to do everything that we can to address this.

Get a season ticket. eevn if you cannot attend all games it is supporting the club.

Get your friend and family season tickets.
Buy season tickets as Xmas presents.
Get Giants merchandise as presents.

Without Ken davy the Giants could not exist on those sorts of figures.

Huddersfield Giants 2013 over achievers

I thought it was common knowledge that Davy bankrolls the club.

The league express reports this week that Leeds Rhinos made an operating loss this year. Think they lost just short of £1million

Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees
Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese
I know no other county where the land is quite so fine
England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine

Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor
And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar
And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be
Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea

So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow
When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go
Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie
'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

Quickly ran through this Codhead post only one link, quoting average loss at 540k, nothing about Giants only speculation.
A Codhead trying to make his club look good over the Rovers.
Not saying clubs are not in trouble financially, but l am sure with Ken Davy´s expert knowledge, re money, he would not let any situation get out of control.
Seriously doubt these figures, especially the Giants. l will wait till l hear it from the horses mouth, or a very creditable source. 8)

Considering the club were in debt of 4million in 2007, I would seriously doubt that they would add a further 1.4million to that debt in just one season.

It's clear Davy props us up financially. Since the changes to the cap rules he has speculated by financing the players wages so we spend full cap in the hope we get good results and then the crowds increase on the back of that as well as the other initiatives we have in place.

And we were losing money beforehand anyway, just as the overwhelming majority of RL clubs are.

Hardly front page news.

and as has been said already, nothing but pure speculation by a cod ead trying to get one over on another cod ed.

Yes we owe Ken Davey a huge thanks, but this isnt news, and it isnt unusual in ANY sport.

Looking at Giants accounts, unfortunately they only file abbreviated accounts which means that they don't file details of Turnover or expenses.

The loss to 30 November 2008 was £1,377,266 based on the balance sheet.

I would expect that this would be much reduced in year to 30 November 2009.

1 Challenge cup final appearance then lose. Hull made a profit probably because this is exactly what they did in 2008. Get to the final and you share the gate money but no win bonus to pay.

2 Progress in the playoffs presumably means more prize money and sky money.

Very few sports clubs do actually make money to be honest.

If this is true and we were already millions in debt then it does seem very worrying indeed. As you say the common fan can help by buying season tickets and merchandise however the early bird discount has already passed so it will make it harder to recruit more fans now and with only just over a month to Christmas we can't even see the new shirts let alone buy one.

There is no context of time scale, when each reports are taken from, where they are from

Pinch of salt./Paper it written on.
