Post subject: | This seasons Average attendance |
Looking at the attendance stats page on this site our 2008 average attendance was 7,819. As we stand at the moment with 1 game remaining our average attendance this season is 7,817 just 2 short of last season. Will we get more than 7,847 on Sunday to keep our attendance increasing? Has the cheap season ticket offer helped the club? I also looked at our home attendances against Wigan since 2000: 2000 3,241 2001 4,039 2002 in NFP League 2003 4,802 2004 5,175 2005 5,369 2005 5,917 (2 home games against the pie eaters that year) 2006 5,487 2007 7,170 2008 8,417 A nice increase in most years |

This is interesting. I was discussing this earlier with a mate, who was suggesting a similar offer for Wire, I disagreed we should do it for a few reasons, but the ultimate one is that the Hudds average attendance hasn't increased, which must be slightly disappointing, even in the current financial climate. I know we will never see them, but it would be very interesting to see the ticket revenue the club has recognised this season, common sense would tell you it has dropped. I suppose the real benefit that the club got from this offer was getting the cash in up front, and it would be interesting to know whether this is enough of a benefit to offset any loss of revenue. |

The difference is that our high and low gates, in comparison to last season, are much closer together in terms of numbers. We had offers such as for the Catalan game last year, and the Bradford game IIRC, that we haven't had this time. |

If people have paid less for their tickets up front, maybe they have been prepared to spend more on things like shirts than they previously would have.

and the good cup run will have helped with merchandise sales too. |

I think we should see a good crowd on Sunday personally, Wigan will bring a shed load, and we will be at home for the first time since Wembley, and its the last game of the regular season |

I think the number of giants fans has definetly increased, its the number of away fans that has fallen! No club has brought any where near the amount of fans they used to do to our place. And before you say it, I know we can't rely on away support, I wasn't saying that. |

It is true about the away fans though they've dwindled although not as much as you would believe though! Our fan base has inceased a lot this year. Every club is experiencing a fall in away support and quite interesting our away support has increased as Wigan and Hull KR have come on here to acknowledge this to us! |
