DISGRACEFUL !! i was actually embarassed by some of our so called supporters yesterday. not going to rant i will do that later when i've come round properly but if thats the best our town can muster for a cup final - and i'm not talking numbers wise - then we dont deserve any success. Those guys in C&G deserve better for what they have done this year and that 'support' was a disgrace to them |

Those guys in C&G deserve better for what they have done this year and that 'support' was a disgrace to them Well said that man. The fans were pathetic to be honest, prawn sandwich brigade. You'll get those who'll say that there wasn't much to sing about.....WE WERE AT WEMBLEY IN A CUP FINAL WHAT MORE REASON DO YOU NEED? Me and the wife were going mad, even resorted to singing bubbles in the end because it was so bad. The amount of times we chanted Fartown, Huddersfield and no one joined in. My memory from the final will be of two Saints fans in the front row near me, trying to gee our fans up and get them singing and the look of shock on their faces at how quiet we were. How embarrassing is that, relying onthe fans of the side we beat in the semis to get our crowd going. Well done team Robbo by the way....they really tried. Big G should have brought his drum!!! Oh and chin up lads, you might not have won but the way you have played this season and for the memory of that great semi final THANK YOU |

I think it was difficult to get the upper tier going. I did shout but spent most of the first half being annoyed by 3 kids who wanted to swap seats and go sit with or speak to the kids they knew on the next block - up and down up and down! In the end I moved to a batch of seats further down my block for the second half. It might have helped, escpecially in the upper tier, if the seats sold were sold from the bottom of the block working up so everyone was sat together. They seemed to have sold them in patches which makes it harder to get songs going. There is also the fact that the "singers" at the back of the Britannia stand (as it is known now) were probably spread around the ground so this wouldnt have helped. I am not making excuses for folks not getting behind the lads just saying what I saw. I dont think that having a go on here about our fans will do any good. The ones on here are probably the ones who made noise and supported the lads. Those that didnt are probably not members of this forum. Perhaps the fans, like the lads, were overwhelmed with the occasion and forgot the game plan? Either way, we lost but I still had a good day out and would go again should we be successful enough to get there. |

Team Robbo were in the block next to us and they were trying to get their block going, my lot were trying to get our lot going and there was 3 or 4 in the next block trying too and some of the looks we got from other fans was almost 'what are they doing' kind of looks. we were also told on 3 occasions by some 'day-trippers behind us to stop standing up as they were trying to watch a rugby match and not our backs !! ooh it makes me so mad when i see and hear 30,000 Wire fans ALL making noise for their team and our lot just sit there looking like the world is about to end. Also as soon as the final hooter went i would say 70% of our fans upped and left , i was stood there in disbelief that they would come all that way and not even watch the lads get their medals. |

The truth is that alot of our support yesterday was made up of hangers on, people who wouldn't normally go and watch the Giants but because it was a final, because it was at Wembley went along. We don't need those kind of people, I woud rather we took 5,000 hardcore fans who would sing their hearts out than 18,000 with the majority just making up the numbers. I agree with Daz 100% on this one, it was a real let down. Would a Town crowd at an FA Cup final be so quiet? |

Agree again, you gotta stay and applaud your team no matter the result. That 70% must have short memories, because our lads did so well to get us to that final.....beating Cas and then Saints. Wire support was really impressive, probably all the more so because ours was so poor. |

exactly, the only time a large section of our crowd made any noise was when that horrible 'uddersfieeeeld' football chant went off. Danna - we tried to get most of the singers together , there were about 50 of us sat in our block but we were wasting our time . i said that about the 5,000 that we should just let the real fans go next time because the day-trippers frankly ruined it for me and other real fans! |

You do wonder what impact it would have had on our players, looking at the vibrant, large and loud Warrington support and then taking a glance at our glum mugs. We hardly inspired them did we. To be honest I was as bad as anyone for that Huddersfield chant....I didn't care as long as I was shouting something....also taking into account I was fasting so not allowed to eat, drink or SWEAR!!! That was the hardest bit of it I'll tell you! Anyway, to thoe of you who did try well done and hold your head's up and for those of you who just sat there looking moody go suck a lemon!!! |

thats the point - when our players needed a lift from our crowds they werent interested no matter how hard we tried, it wont have helped the players hearing all the Wire fans and then 100 of our fans trying their hardest ! |
