Post subject: | Home Form |
What is it about our home form this (and to an extent last) season, why can we not seem to perform on our own ground? We have had 7 home matches, won 3 lost 4. Out of the ones we lost, one was against Saints, so we can discard that almost. 50% home form. Interestingly out of the remaining 6, all have been in front of Sky TV We beat Celtic, Salford and HKR, all but Salford on Sky. We lost to Hull, Leeds and Cas on Sky. Can we say Sky is the thing that upsets us? Or given that the majority of our games have been on Sky this season, we should be used to it? What is the reason? |

I beleive that our fans get on the backs of the players too quickly at home. When we travel we have 'good' supporters who cheers, sing and general make some noise. At home that is missing and to be honest you can hear a pin drop sometimes. What happened to the 'Singing Section' this year? I'm in the middle of it but never go home with no voice anymore. |

I will say that at the Cas game I noticed that from kick off the crowd was very flat Maybe it is sky game being a problem because the crowds are affected by the cameras? Maybe our expectations have gone up too much (I think they have personally) Are we the new Warrington? |

Fair enough, crowd was low, and very quiet from the kick off. This weekend will be interesting, home on sunday agaisnt a "derby" team, if we cant lift at home for this its a poor do. |

It actually 8 home league games won 3 harlequins, celtic, hull kr lost 5 st helens, leeds, hull, castelford, salford if you add the two cup games it is won 5 lost 5 Of the five defeats St Helens and Leeds are no great shock and Hull generally do well against us and were on form at the time. So i would say it is only two games Salford and Castleford were we let ourselves down. |

I totally agree with you as it happens, but those two really, really were dissapointments Id also add the Hull game in, they were there to be beaten and we couldnt finish. Seems that problem hasnt left us, or we havent fixed it adequately. |

Against saints we had plenty of chances to score but could not get the ball over the line. Saints was a shock because we did enough to win but did not score when we had chances. Against Hull we were dire ( Hull were rubbish that day but still better than us). This was the game where our back 3 went on a knockonathon in our own 20 and let them have the ball all the time. Salford we were dire and although cas defended well our finishing was rubbish. We could have won that game if we had taken the chances we had. leeds we did not even turn up. Our Home form has been poor and demoralising becuase in those 5 games iot is not a case we played well or were beaten by the better team or robbed by the ref. We lost becuase our attack was poor, we made too many mistakes and we did not take the chances that we had in all five games. |

We also have poor home form this year, partially down to you guys I think quite a few teams do. Just make sure your form at the HJ is good in August. |

I think it works both ways between the players and the crowd. If the crowd get behind them from the off and during the game when they need it they tend ot respond. look at the 2recent Cas games as an example - at the cup game the crowd were getting behind them and making some noise - even when we were behind which the players seemed to respond to and went on and win the game, while the league game was a flat atmosphere due to Cas starting better and the crowd never really picked up from there and began to get on the players backs. We need the crows to get behind the team from the off and when the team are down instead of laying into them. |
