Post subject: | What should Brown do against Rochdale |
Our game is based on the work rate of our defence and the team as a whole. When players are tired we do not perform simple as. therefore we need to be resting players for what is a hard season. ther are still going to be 17 games plus a cup run ( final ) and the playoffs. What should Brown do for the Rochdale game play a full team and try to beat the Blackpool record, cheer th efans up and maintain a feel good factor OR rest some players for the exertions needed later on in the season. i would play about 8 of the first teamers and then have the rest being academy reserves. there is no reason why hemmingway, lunt, walsh, cudjoe, Lopag, korki, patrick( all of whom have some first team experience) and would benefit from the chance to play in the first team cannot be included and for them to be supported by those first teamers who do not need a rest. They would therefore have more than enough abilty to beat Rochdale Hodgson, Wild , Kirmond and Mason could all do with a week off. we will then be able to put out a strong and fresh team for the game against Salford. What do others think. |

Are you sitting down DG? I agree with you. Would like to see Carlile do big minutes + Josh Griff + Walker Would certainly look at Leroy for Brett / Heminway for Brown / Griff J for Fatz. Would let Jammer and Bruno work on their centre/wing combination. A cricket score is pointless. Resting a few players and giving our rising stars a meaningful hit out is far more useful. |

Given our present form seems to be lacking a bit of confidence, I say put out the full team and go for a big win. Kick start our season again. |

we need to get some confidence back and get back to winning ways - keep the 1st team out and let them do the business, they will be more confident getting 2 wins under their belt (providing we win !) albeit against lesser opposition. Remember the York cup game a couple of years ago? we had lost every game that season - battered York then won 9 in a row because of the confidence gained in that match. |

We didn't beat Halifax in the Infirmary cup so I would be hesitant at pinning our CC hopes on the youngsters. Defeat could destroy their respective playing careers. |

Gotta go for the full team. Yeah if a player would benefit from a rest then rest them but making too many changes would send out the wrong message. No matter who the opposition are they deserve respect and need to be beaten. By selecting a weakened team it would suggest to the players that the match could be easy and they may get caught cold. |

The fans also need cheering up. We have played 7 home games this season inc the Wigan friendly and have won 2 of them. Lets get the smile back on our faces again because the preformance against The Crusaders didn't. |

I think it important that we give some of the fringe 1st teamers a run out. The likes of Carlisle, Hemmingway and Lopag need their chance of 1st team rugby. Providing all are fit I’d be tempted to go with something like this: 1) Cudjoe 2) Lawrence 3) Jammer 4) J. Griffin 5) Lopag 6) Hemmingway 7) Robinson 8.) Korkidas 9) Carlisle 10) Jackson 11) Patrick 12) Kirmond 13) Walsh Subs from: Brown Lunt Griffin Crabtree Aspy Wild Although we don’t want to fall into the trap of taking a team for granted I think there is enough strength in that squad to beat Rochdale |
