Thomas Brodbents, Meltham Engineering, Greencore Foods.

All laid people off and Greencore moved production elsewhere and closed.

Me ,my son and my Girlfriends sisters boyfriend have all been made redundant since last november - its awful i just cant find a job at all - and there just doesnt seem to be any bright lights anywhere

There are certainly plenty of people in the area struggling to find work at the moment. Hopefully we'll see an improvement soon.

My dad was trained in the woollen industry and has worked in this feild till literally all the mills were shut down in this area. In the last few years he's been made redundant from George Cock's in Linthwaite and Huddersfield Dyers on Leeds road. It's bad when he's near retirement age and has worked in this field since his apprenticeship.

He found looking for a job in this industry extreamly hard as they're all feeling the pinch. thankfully he moved industries and got a job in Honley where they make tools for gardens and similar things. And this was before the so called crisis. He hopes to retire from this job but that isn't certain in these times!!

I know I don't live in Hudds but I expect it to pic up very soon, the government will start throwing money at construction projects so be prepared and make sure you have a CSCS card.
