Did i miss the announcement saying that referees are no longer going to penalise ALL misdemeanours ? or was that just Mr Thaler's own decision today ? i just found it strange how neither side were penalised for anything until past the hour - is it to try and speed the game up or what because both sides got away with loads today - on one occasion it took Quins 13 seconds to clear the ruck and Thaler just told our man to get up ?? surely a penalty should have been given after so long |

Abolished from Mr Thalers rule book today were the offences of; Lying on at the tackle Offside Markers Not Square Forward Passes At least he had the decency to do it for both sides. Consistency is what most of us have called for, so at least he got that right. |

I will not complain about a consistant ref, yes he let a lot go, but he penalised when needed and was even handed, no complaints from me. |

Yes, OK, he did let a few minor offences go. My only complaint is that he, or his touch judges, should have caught more forward passes. However, apart from that, an excellent game, Mr Thaler. Well done. I even applauded him off the field!! |

i just dont understand how 1 ref 1 week will penalise everything and give a penalty every 2 minutes but next week a different ref will just ignore everything for the sake of not stopping the game |

Which is what I have been saying all along, he wasn't too bad but then again would I be saying that if we had lost 46-6? He was consistent (in missing/ignoring things by both teams) which is something I have been harping on about so suppose that was good, problem we have now is next week we get someone different and be pinged left right and Centre for the same things? We will wait and see |

We will wait and see exactly - im not complaining about the things he did or did not give, its just it appeared to me that he went out there with the aim of ignoring everything!! |

Interesting that you say hardly any penalties until around the hour mark. When Wigan visited Leeds Ian Smith gave Leeds their first pen on 60 mins which made the count 1-2 in Wigan's favour. The final penalty count was 6-6. Three up to 60 mins then 12 in the last 30. Is there a directive or just co-incidence? |
