Hi fellow rugby fans - we want to set off early so we can "do" Huddersfield, what's the best place to park so we can have a mooch round the town centre and then get to the game. Is it easier to park at the Galpharm early and then walk into town and, if yes, then is the car park open all the time and the attendants appear 2 hours before the match or something?
Not an easy one this as it will depend on where you park. If you go for street parking in the Town centre then you could pay for a couple of hours and then move and park at th eground or whatever when you want to go there. Alternatively, once it gets beyond 6pm the street parking is free so you could pay up until 6pm in hours and then leave the car there to pick up after the game.
If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

What time you thinking?? St Andrews car park has bollards for the top car park whereas the bottom shelf is taken over by the car showroom place nearby so these options are a no go before 4-5. The other options at that end like the municipal car park along St Andrews roadis again a no go as it's full during office hours. But there may be a few on street places free along st andrews road which are only ever taken on matchdays if you want to risk it!
At the other end of the ground there are some free spots which is for the leisure centre but the stadium car park is ticket only and cinema is a defo no go!
Many on here will suggest Tesco's car park near town centre but any stay after 3 hours is spotted and you'll get a lovely letter with details of a fine!! My mum works there and gets these letters regular despite her registration being on the database!!
