its a shame he could not get the visa . cause he has no club now for this year . he has too go too a lower state comp now :roll:

was watching a programme on foxtel the other night about the nrl players who went to rhwanda during the summer to teach the locals about rugby and help them build houses etc .. carney was one of these players and it was great to see those players giving back to society

you'd think that sort of thing would have helped his visa, I do wonder if we had no one else lined up why we didn't appeal on the visa too, what was there to lose by doing so?

A SEASON of bush football in north Queensland looms as the most likely way back to rugby league for former Canberra bad boy Todd Carney.

Carney has exhausted all National Rugby League options and, with the door closed on a British Super League deal, his management is investigating a possible move to the Atherton Roosters.

The Roosters, who play in the 10-team Cairns District Rugby League, have emerged as leading contenders for the former Raider after offering a package believed to be worth almost $100,000.

Canberra last year sacked the halfback following several off-field indiscretions and the NRL later de-registered the 22-year-old.
