take lawrence out and you lose the tackling and also leadership on the field which is already woeful, we have lost hinchy now
our second row is awful compared to other teams... ferguson may be a ray of hope

Leroy brings back a bit of leadership and when Leroy plays Jerry’s back to his best usually. I don’t think we have a leader on the pitch any more that’s one of the main things we are lacking
Ref didn't have a bad game. We are our own worst enemy.
The issue isn't the players, it isn't the coach, we've had the same issues for the last 5 years, there is something deeper that causes this. A mentality thing about being a huddersfield player. We need leadership at the club and someone who accepts nothing less than 100% commitment and accountability, from top to bottom.
I'm starting to think who cares, fans give up on the players too easily, there is no atmosphere whatsoever at games, the numbers are dropping, mediocrity is becoming acceptable and the only reason for us losing is blaming the ref or any player that makes an error or too, often from trying too hard.

Doesn’t matter if it was a knock on or not. The players all stopped and waved the Hull player past.
Basic stuff. Play to the whistle. You’d tell off an under 9s team for that one. It was dismal.

grix went to pieces after he made his first error...how many times have we seen this in the past..least wooldford got to see it for himself today and hopefully wont pick him again.
frawley is playing behind a beaten pack dont forget, all half backs struggle when that happens.
our forwards is a huge problem
far too early to being saying we will be relegated, we will prob go on our usual 8 game winning streak mid season
Yes, Grix was clearly the player to pick out today for blame.
Picked himself. No effort. Didn't support those around him.
If you reckon yes to any of those, then you have my sympathy.
Seriously, did you watch today's game? You've just taken the easy option. Grix should not be playing. He signed on not expecting to play. He was past his best when he left, let alone now he's returned. But to pick him out, when he was left so exposed by his team mates, is just boringly lazy.
By picking out Grix you, and a fair few others, are missing the worrying bigger picture by far.

This was a Sunday, so I forked out my fifty quid and down we went.
I was a bit shocked by that performance. That was an awful display. They could still be playing now and not score.
The 1,6,7,9 spine is nowhere near good enough to compete at this level. Back in 2013 we had a much younger Grix, Brough, Robinson and Lunt in these positions. None of our current squad are near that level.
So I’m unclear why so much money has been spent on a big name winger, when wingers have so little direct influence on the game (and absolutely none of they don’t play) The money needed spending elsewhere.
A big name winger on big money in this team is the signing of someone who knows nothing about the game IMO.
I wonder how much last years late season survival run was actually down to Chris Thorman, who has now left the club for some reason.
Overall, I thought the players put in a lot of effort, but most aren’t good enough. A long hard season ahead I think, and some considerable luck needed to avoid relegation.
I’m not sure when the next Sunday afternoon game is, so it might be a while before I’ll go again. But today was pretty depressing tbh. It wasn’t worth the fifty quid.
Steve, my view is that they’re better than they’re putting out there and, at times, they seem to stop playing. The defensive line stays still rather than push up and we just seem to stop trying.
This isn’t new and is a characteristic that isn’t unique to a particular coaches reign. The players look like they don’t care as much as the opposition.
We are in a paradoxical situation. The ref gave us nothing but then the ref shouldn’t have to. The second penalty on the 5th and last in the second half - what was it for? I have issues with what I perceive as a lack of even handedness by the referee but it pales into comparison with the lack of leadership, commitment and effort by our players.
Our heads drop like someone cutting the string on pinnochio’s head. No pride, no professionalism and the one or two that actually try deserve better.
Woolford’s comments really worry me because the issues he says are hard to fix are precisely the ones he is paid to address.
Worrying but there is time. I’ll be going to work tomorrow in a bad mood. Not good times to be from Huddersfield.
If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.
Having now seen the tries there was certainly nothing wrong with Westerman's first. A bit flukey perhaps, but quick thinking and not a knock on. You have to play to the whistle. It's one of the first things you ever learn in sport.

Watch it again here. It went nowhere near the ground.
