Just called Varsity, Warehouse and the usual “larger” establishments only to be told they are showing the Man Utd v Chelsea charity shield football match. I think its disgusting that the biggest game of the season is not being promoted in the town centre watering holes! I mean we’re in Huddersfield not Manchester! Who gives two hoots about those Manchester scumbags or southern monkeys (sorry cockney! ) anyway in an annual friendly?
Does anyone know a pub with a large screen that is showing the match on Sunday? Somewhere fairly largish that does food.
saw advert in somerset arms on wakefield road that they will be showing it, not sure about the food though.
typical of a town like huddersfield that there's probably more chelsea"fans" than giants

Town for 9am then?
Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese I know no other county where the land is quite so fine England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine
Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea
So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie 'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

David: "I'm supporting Saints because one of the Huddersfield fans called all Manchester fans who live in Huddersfield and go to the pub to watch the game rather than watching the Giants Scumbags"
Mummy: "Do you want a biscuit with your milk dear?"
