We are going no where as a club if Watson thinks Russell is SL quality.

Will be more of the same next year. Watson will continue signing players who make us less and less attractive to watch. I think his only criteria for what makes a good half or dummy half is that they unquestioningly follow his game plan and are good in defence. I heard last night that Leigh are trying to sign Brodie Croft from Salford. We should be throwing everything at a signing like that, but he's far too exciting a player for Watson. I have little doubt that the rumour about us signing Powell from Wigan is true and we will end up with him. Exactly Watson's kind of player, never gets near the Wigan team unless they have a rash of injuries/players out of form, no attacking flair or pace. He also seems to think that experience of playing in big games automatically makes you a better player. Guess what, every team carries deadwood, the fact you are playing in a team alongside great players does not make you a good one. Teams like Wigan and Saints will only let you sign their deadwood, not their decent players. We enquired about Miski last year, and i said at the time that would be a great signing but of course they wouldn't let him go! Powell, they will order the taxi and the champagne send off. Wigan must be loving that they can rely on us to lap up their deadwood, first Bibby and now Powell!

Not sure if there is anything in it right now, but hearing Leeds have offered a transfer fee to Huddersfield for Oliver Wilson.

Thought I'd restart this thread.....

So far next season we've bought in resigned :

Burgess
Lolohea
Hewitt

We've lost

Marsters (Salford)
Russell (Wakefield - if rumours are true)
Feel free to add anymore names I may have forgotten....

Rushton signed a new contract extension till 2027.
Halsall till 2027.
Out of contract this season:
Marsters (Salford next season)
Naiqama
Milner
Yates (Warrington next season?)
Cudjoe
Russell (Wakefield)
Don't think there are any others out of contract!
I don't have a problem with the likes of our captain going if we bring in a player that improves the squad i.e. Jack De Belin BUT why does Watson keep getting rid of quality centres i.e. Wardle, Leutele, and now Marsters (our best player this year.)

Ricky left because Derek offered him loads of money, Jake left because Watson wouldnt play him at centre, he said he was a winger so Jake went to a club where he could play centre and he hasnt made a bad job of it has he. Marsters probably wants to go and play in a team that has a chance of challenging for the top six, while playing attractive and fast football at the same time.

Looking like we will need 2 x centres, Halsall looks promising to me but is being played on the wing at the moment when I believe he is a centre. So we need at least one more - hoping that Bibby is not his solution! Do we have any backs coming out of the academy? Despite its good reputation backs seem to be a rarity.

Yates to Warrington now confirmed - 2 year deal for him.

Wish him the best of luck, he's been superb in our colours & deserves to playing at a decent team who are knocking on the door for trophies, not a team who are struggling to make the top 8.
