Grix was ok but did a lot of running at the Bulls forwards with little success.
Aspy is as strong as an OX and a good tackler. Would tighten things up in midfield and with his speed off the mark and strength would be a good interchange hooker. that would help nullify Berrigan and give the Hull forwards something to think about.
I suspect this was due to the loss of Mason so Grix was told to just hit up and share the load with our 3 props.
With 4 props then Grix can slot into a range of ball playing roles:
Into the halves with Robbo going to 9
Into 13 with Fooey going to 9
Directly into 9 himself
These additional positional rotations give us many more options and share the workoad with Lunt, enabling him to do longer minutes.
