Hi all!

New(ish) student to the area, was wondering if any of you could reccommend:

a) a good pub in/near the town centre to watch the rugby on Friday/Saturday nights

b) a decent amateur side again in or near the town centre

I used to play back in Warrington until I moved up here and haven't stumbled accross an amateur side here yet. Google told me names of clubs, but I'd like a reccomendation of a decent side in a fairly high league if possible.

I live on Firth Street at the moment, but moving to just behind the station somewhere in September, so anywhere close to there would be excellent

Thanks in advance

DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

get beaten by Huddersfield.

In answer to the question; I'd guess that Moldgreen will be your nearest club.

If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

Sorry going by your name, I was thinking you had moved to Morley and then realised it was a reference to Adrian Morley.
Anyway the places mentioned are about 25 mins from Hudds.

Yeah 25 mins is a bit too far to be honest. The pub in Newsome sounds alright though, probably give it a go on Friday.

Couldn't find any info on training from the website, but what day/time do Joe's 2nd team train?

When I get my bike up here I think I'll head down there. Is it fairly easy to spot or hidden away behind the houses?
