Teams around the town centre are are:
Moldgreen
Newsome
St Joes
Moldgreen play in Division 1 and are struggling for players at the moments so if you want to play regularly then thats the place to be. Good facilities with access to a gym if you need it.
Newsome play in Division 2 and have both 1st and 2nd teams (2nd team play in Division 7). Play out of Newsome High School and go back to the Fountain Inn at Newsome which shows live rugby on the big screen as well as on 2 smaller TV's in seperate rooms. On the downside you'd bump into Gahan on match days!
St Joes play in the Premier Division and are coached by Keith Senior and are holders of the Holliday Cup. Play on the hallowed turf of Fartown (off Spaines Road). 2nd Team play in Division 6 and have just won the James Conlan Memorial Cup.
If you are looking for a team to play for in Summer your nearest team is Underbank Rangers (based in Holmfirth). They are coached by York City Knights player Richard Knight and Swinton Lions half back Ritchie Knight. They play in the Rugby Conference National which runs from April til September and then the winter season begins. They also have a winter team that play in Division 4 and a 2nd team playing in division 7.
If you need contact numbers for any of the above mentioned clubs let me know via PM
Sing a song of Yorkshire, from the Humber to the Tees Of cricket, rugby, beer, of pudding and of cheese I know no other county where the land is quite so fine England's lovely county. And I'm proud to call it mine
Where shining purple heather stretches far across the moor And the lapwing's cry above me takes the place of traffic roar And peace comes drifting gently, there's no place I'd rather be Than this land of hills and valleys, from the Pennines to the sea
So when I've done my roaming, and when my step grows slow When heart and mind assure me that the time has come to go Then let me rest in Yorkshire, for its there I want to lie 'Neath sun and wind and heather... and a gleaming Yorkshire sky

Unfortunately due to the loss of a couple of key players mid season its looking pretty nailed on that Moldgreen will be division 2 side next season. Basis of a good team though and with the recruitment of a couple of players will do well in div 2 next season.
if you fancy watching a game Moldgreen are playing tomorrow night at home against elland
although it might not quite sell the team as it will more than likely be a bit one sided. (Elland looking at potential promotion Moldgreen all but relegated)
