The Star [Albert Street, Lockwood] is a very distinguished public house serving quality beers in convivial surroundings. They have regular ‘beer festivals’ where people can sample in excess of 50 brews from all over the country. The next one is from the 18th to the 22nd of March, with the 21st being ‘Charity Day’.
At short notice we have taken on the mantle of being the nominated Charity. Tickets cost £12 [PM me]. For this you will get entry to the festival, 5 halves of beer [or equivalent], a ‘9th’ commemorative glass, food, and programme. Drinks will cost about £1.50 per half, entry is £2, and food will be £3 – a total of £12.50. The ticket not only represents a saving of 50p but also puts money into our Scout coffers.
