Leigh Leopards Resurgence Claims Dragons Scalp The bookies were struggling to call the game between the Catalans Dragons and Leigh Leopards as they gave the visitors just a four-point start on the coupon despite the seven-point difference between the two sides on the league table.
A win for the Dragons would see them up to fifth, a big win could see them end the weekend in fourth while victory for the Leopards would see them to within one point of the Huddersfield Giants and towards the middle of the table in their own quest for a top six place.
Both sides had a benefitted from a week's rest for the Cup Final and were ready to go ‘guns' blazing' for the win in the south of France, the Dragons looking to turn around a recent poor run of form.

Great win. Great defensive display. Could perhaps have made the result a but easier with better handling and ball control and, yet again, better discipline.
Would love to see us playing with better fluidity in attack but you cannot argue with the result against one of our bogey teams and in their backyard as well. Most teams struggle to win there so the result was a huge plus even if the performance left a little bit to be desired.
I see no reason why we cannot beat a fairly average Leeds team next week either at their midden.

Only manage to catch the last 20 minutes but we were solid in defence for that part.
Catalan aren't firing at the moment but you can only play what's in front of you.
I see we kept Moylan at full back, Gaz was fine in the halves and Zak and Frankie put in a shift after a few average performances, lots of positives
I'll moan again about the 4 points we dropped in our first matches against giants and Leeds where we vexed it all away.
What was always going to be an emotionally charged match for Leeds now has extra meaning for them given their loss to Hull. We should win, just need an 80 minute performance if the quality we showed in the first half when we played them at home
Overall I was very pleased with the effort and determination, especially in defence of course. I think it was Lyle Amour who was the second commentator (?) who said that Lockie had a poor game but I totally disagree. He was solid going forward, and fantastic in defence. Has to be the strongest defensive effort I have seen from him and he is never far short of great in any game. I also saw a couple of glimpses of what I think will now kick us on if we can keep them together. That being Lam/Moylan/OBrien. Two or three times they looked close to getting it together, and another week or two I think we will see them creating havoc in back lines off the fast ball from Edwin and Dwyer. We are also now really starting to see the benefit of sticking with Trout, Norman etc during the darker injury times. They will be strong in the 17 from here out. Still an up hill climb but I think with Pene to come, Asiata close, and hopefully a better go from the injury gods in the second half of the season, we are still very much in the hunt and could be a real threat if we make it.
First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can. “Up The Comics !”

It would be good to see us with a fully fit team for the Wiggin away game. Amone, Ipape, Mulhern, ODonnell, Hughes, Asiata then add in Pene, Trout, Halton, Norman, Holmes, Davis and Dwyer to choose from in the forwards. That game will tell us where we really stand now.
