Well, according to the Aussie version of The Daily Telegraph and repeated the other day through Total Rugby League, we, along with 2 other SL clubs, have been involved in talks to sign total bad boy and currently NRL banned Aussie centre, Curtis Scott. I will just throw that one into the mix.

re Curtis Scott, I know nothing specifically about it being Curtis Scott, but we are definitely actively working on another significant signing that will boost our starting 17 (not just add to our squad in general).
First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can. “Up The Comics !”
Interestingly the published articles say that Leigh have a spare overseas quota spot available. This is incorrect if Big Ben has been re-signed. Of course the club have been silent, so far, in relation to retentions (re-signings). Given that there has been no announcement that he has been re-signed and given the report says that we have been in talks with Scott (and, who knows, possibly others) then this may indicate that Big Ben's place at the club is at risk. I concede that this is all speculation but, that's all just part of the fun at this time of the year. Having said that we do need another quality centre. We were short of one at times after Ricky was injured last season and the indications are already that he will not be back to full fitness in time for, and is already likely to miss, the start of the coming season. So maybe the club also thinks that we need a Premiership winning 6 foot 3 tall 15 stones total bad boy who has not got a career in Australia and who is seeking personal and professional redemption on this side of the globe. We shall see.
Curtis Scott, would not be coming over to sit on the bench. If this is indeed true it suggests that Ricky would be eased back into the team when he is ready. At the end of the day, spinal surgery/injuries are not something to be taken lightly. Leutele's value to the team was emphasized by his absence, and the left edge functions considerably better with him in the team.
Bringing in a centre would provide much-needed utility in a squad lacking depth in the backs.
