2023 Challenge Cup Quarter Final Draw The draw for the quarter finals of the 2023 Betfred Challenge Cup took place at Wheldon Road after today's clash between the Castleford Tigers and Hull FC, where the winners Hull FC were into the hat alongside the holders Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Leigh Leopards, Hull KR, Warrington Wolves, Salford Red Devils and York RLFC Knights.
Interestingly there is not a single West Yorkshire side left in the competition.
The draw was made by John Kear (away) and Brian Noble (home) and was broadcast live on the BBC at the conclusion of the sixth round game.
All the Super League sides were hoping to draw the remaining Championship side, the neutrals were looking forward to some of the big teams being thrown together.

They could go all the way. I was lucky to be there in '71 and the final and the homecoming parade are days that will live long in my memory. Sadly I was also at the 2 semis against Saints and Fev where we didn't quite make it. If Henderson had sidestepped Ledger he would have gone under the posts and taken us to Wembley. And against Fev the ref only saw one team...enough said. Great memories anyway. Let's hope there are more memories to be made.

I’m genuinely excited about a first semi final since 1987. We gave Saints a hard game in 87 but paid the price that day for a poor 1st half. I was behind the sticks and I thought Henderson was scoring. Ledger seem to come from nowhere to tackle him. It was always a dream to see Leigh at Wembley. I was too young in 1971(4).. I recall the disappointment in 1982. When we drew Castleford at home in the qf I thought we were in the semi at least. Going out to Salford the following year at the Willows was massively disappointing. Here’s hoping…with the club safe in the super league this season we can give the cup a massive go.
