I would make the end space after the shop, a supporter bar, pictures up of players etc with tables and chairs outside(weatherpermitting keep the smokers happy  ). Have a barbi going in summer maybe? Or get a pig roast going lol. Happy hours before and after the game, Have hot food served before the games at a reasonable cost.

Players in bar after match from 6pm to 6.30pm to sign autograths and do a supporters player of the match presentation.
Then Id have one of the empty boxes turned into a creche for the young ones, so their parents can watcth the game in peace, charge a small fee, but give them a drink and a hot dog, results young uns happy, Dads happy.

Have meal deals available from caterers inside the ground ie pie and a pint £5. Happy hour too maybe, try and entice people in earlier.

How about a brass marching band?

Kids festival at Harriers or East and all the kids and their families taking part given free tickets in the East stand, do this once every 2 monthes. Hubbys idea.

Other week invite all the girl guides, scout, brownies, then a different group of organistations the next time , into same stand foc. Hubbys idea.

Put free coaches on for away fans buying tickets from our ticket office, so enough come to be able to open away stand. Hubbies idea again.

Have fundays on bank holidays, involve players in activities. Get people coming to visit who wouldnt normally.

Sack the daft mascot bring back Parky Pig and have a Parky Pig fan club, kids can join and get a chance to meet the players after the games. Parky escorts them there.

Have a discount for say any SL ticket holders, really cheap so as when Saints/Wigan play Friday(which they do mostly) some of their fans may come and watch.

Have a bring someone new offer day for a fiver.

Just ideas, anyone else have any, as the place is soul less and it needs to have 3000 to 4000 on to get an atmostphere I reckon.

to do all the above though Linda you would have to own the LSV and Leigh Centurions and the catering company and have a big fat bottomless wallet (I know your Steve has one already but you know what I mean  )

Now if you put that to a fans vote and said right all of this or else 2 top class players, I wonder what the outcome would be, (I know which I would vote for but as I no longer drink have no little kids and am not bothered about meeting the players after the game to guess what would be too easy :) )

Please do not send me any PM's I dont check this board often enough to be able to answer them, use my e mail add please fjparkinson@virginmedia.com

I would

Apologise for the complete mess we had made so far, asking for a second chance

Emphasise the community element to the stadium and that we had learned from our mistakes

List the positive things we would now be doing to enhance the stadium experience eg family bar, cash gates, new food/drink prices

Ask for the support of the community to make the stadium a success

Re launch with a deal negotiated with LCRLFC to fill the ground, eg no rent/costs for the day.

Request that

LCRLFC promote the family bar, players signing autographs etc,

LCRLFC work with LSV to increase gates.

LCRLFC support a joint effort to raise profile through schools, sports clubs and in the town centre

are these problems not solvable because something needs to be done,

the lsv cant be happy , centurions must be leaking money every matchday.

their needs to be some dialogue.

can a fans representative group not meet with these people.

I do think that Leigh Centurions are partly at fault here - surely they should be negotiating a better deal for themselves?
I can't believe that any businessman worth his salt would only take what's offered without trying to negotiate a better deal.
If they've done this without any success, then surely it's time to get Andy Burnham on side to thrash out a deal on their behalf - LSV are destroying our club and I can't believe they're going to sit back and let it happen!

Don't forget Andy Burnham promised the people of Leigh they were going to get a stadium to be proud of - I think he should be made to honour his words!

In fairness, they have, they are and I understand they have had some success.

At the end of the day though, Simon Toone has to make sure it does not lose money and is perhaps reluctant to take onboard some of the more risky ideas.

That then comes full circle........community facility or profit lead establishment?

Cant understand why SL season ticket holders cant get into any lower league clubs ground for £5 on production on their season ticket on entry to a NL game. Same the other way round.....I.E. us getting into any SL clubs ground for £5 on production of our season tickets.
It will swell all clubs gates and give that little bit extra cash through tickets, food, beer etc.......... cant beleive that the RFL (idiots  ) have never made this standard policy - nothing like supporting any team that plays the pies.

But surely everyone with a sensible head knows that you have to speculate to accumulate, and that you should always expect to make a loss in the first 12 months of starting any new business venture?

I think everyone knows that the LSV has to make money but surely they should be trying to build the business until it has achieved it's potential before trying to kill it off?

We have a beautiful stadium with people who want to spend their money there, but we won't be ripped off - we're not stupid and if they're not careful it's going to be a beautiful EMPTY stadium, and then where will we be?

I think that's the problem. WE don't have anything... the LSV committee do but as you say what use is the stadium 3/4 empty. That's a question the "brains" at LSV need to answer.

..... and I'll be standing in the Hilton Park stand, yes that's right I've named the North Stand myself

Unfortunately what would stop a fan of a SL club purchasing a ST of the cheapest in NL and then gain entry into their chosen SL team for £5...

How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
