I don't usually have a go at match officials as they have a hard enough job as it is, but having reviewed both last nights and last Fridays Widnes V Oldham dvd's, how this guy has another top game this weekend is beyond me, he was clearly influenced by the crowd last night, he was inconsistent in BOTH games in the way he gave the penalties not only against the two winning teams but against both losers.
His performances over the last two games should be shown to young refs as how not to ref a game.
No sour grapes on the main 'event' as Hobson clearly showed intent even if he didnt connect (inconclusive on dvd, and as for another post the Fev fan who said the player jumped straight up, well yes he did once Mr Childs reached for the red card as he went down as if he'd been shot from the 'grassy knoll' but the yellow card for Stewart, yes he's not the most quickest of players geting off the tackle but he had let far slower ones get away completely unpunished.
Sorry Mr Childs but your evaluation last night would have been 1/10 and that would be for just turning up.

What he said.
I will not watch another match where he is the ref
Well after watching the DVD, it was awful reffing. 18 6 I made the count in Fev s favour.
Hobbo incident from the angle the film shows didnt look as if it warrented a straight red, the Fev player desrved an oscar the way he fell to the floor.
Stewart did lay on, but no more then a few of their players had, he certainly didnt persistantly lay on as people have slated him for. He was unfortunate to be yellow carded IMHO.As for the REfs display it seems worse on the DVD than when there.
God help Fax Sunday.
Hope they save Mr Childs For Mr Lewis new favourites.

Dick. If Tommy Haughey's fall to the ground was contrived - I'd say so! I never try and make anything of an issue that I perceive as objective fact.
I'm too old and long in the tooth for that now.
But the incident with Hobson happened right in front of me and he collared Haughey good and proper. His head recoiled to his left as he was taken to the head. The ref showed the red straight away and Tommy got up in a matter of seconds.
Fred:- Tommy was running full tilt and was taken out to the left temple if my memory serves me correct. He went down and got straight up. He was getting up regardless of what the ref was doing - who was very quick with the card!!!
If Tommy was guilt of feigning or milking an injury - I'd soddin well say so and criticise him for it!!!! He wasn't!! Hobson did NOT miss!
Hiowever, the ref was still sheeite!
She carries on through it all......

Thus my disappearance for 24hrs, i was that livid.
