Indeed, and it was great to see in this last game but to say the left edge has been clunky in the past 2 months is not to overstate just how poor our creative play has been since Ricky was injured. It was great to see a return to fluency in the left edge this weekend, but it has taken us 2 long months to get there without him.
Ricky Leutele, is such a threat in size, pace and strength that most wingers need to stay close to their centre to stop him. This is what Charnley has been feasting on all season. Since the Salford game we have relied upon only scoring 2 tries until now.
Against Huddersfield Kai was sent on numerous crash balls, because the outside route was blocked. Eventually the opposition will expect the crash ball and then the outside is clear. Gildart showed excellent centre play to keep the opposition interested before releasing Charnley.
However strange the Huddersfield game was, at least we are back to winning ways.
