After train a quick tram across Manchester centre for buzz to Salford, then another 2 mile walk to the stadium. But it was worth it. This team doesn't know when they're beaten. They just don't give up. A scrappy 1st half in which Salford were on top but after going 22-10 down, Leigh upped their game. Some of Joe Mellor's tackles were amazing on blokes much bigger than him. Saints game next and then Wiggin. Can't wait to watch those.
I totally agree with your comments about Joe Mellor. What a whole hearted player. Last week against Cas he came on as sub. for Edwin after half an hour and did a great job out of position including the tackle of the season to stop a certain Cas try in the last minute.
Then on Sunday he gives a full 80 minutes in this unfamiliar position which included the tigerish tackling you mentioned. If it wasn’t for Ben’s brilliant goalkicking, he would definitely make my Leigh team.
