39 minutes and 30 seconds of the nearest perfect first half of rugby I've seen Leigh play, baring the bombed chances.
Then the worry that (1) the bombed chances might cost us and (2) Leeds have been a team of two halves this season, so expect a tense second half.
And so it proved, for the first 15 but then it seemed we'd caught Leeds playing to crap halves of rugby back to back, they seemed like we have seemed sometimes, with only Nene and a couple of their middles seemingly doing anything with any sense of go forward.
3 subs for us was it? That is pushing it, I know its a rest week but there were time when I was begging for a pair of fresh legs.
I said I'd be happy with four from eight with this block of 4 games and with Cas coming up, I'd now hope for six.
Makes up for the two lost to Salford (I don't see us ever beating a Rowley team, it'll just be one of those things) last time out.
Stand outs tonight were Mulhern again, along with the usual suspects but it was another solid performance across the park that I can't pick out those that were noticeably off. Enjoyed it too much.
Interchanges becoming a bit of a concern, you wonder if Lam has much faith in anyone beyond the 13:
Ava bowing after 5 mins
Wildie full of enthusiasm, good for him to get some experience and see if he can hack it at this level
Not sure Mellor on the bench and coming on with 5 mins left gives us
Quite like Davis, small but can do a job
A lot of players doing (Asiata, amone, mullhern, O’Donnell, Holmes, Ipape) doing a lot of minutes. A weeks break come at the right time for me, can confidently say we are safe now so maybe play the squad a bit more and see who should be retained for next season
Awesome defensive display, best I’ve seen from us for a long time - structured and committed and as good to see as us in attack
