If this site doesn't get repaired it will not exist much longer. Only the very highly motivated will wait for it to clunk into life. We must be very much reduced on numbers. There will be about 20 of us left soon with the odd nutter (with time on his hands) visiting when we get beat. Where is our IT technician?

In the past I contacted the admin of the server and there were times when they responded to posts like this. Since these continuing issues I’ve not seen them respond to anything. Yes it as got rather frustrating trying to post or quote to posts if feels like the norm now.

It's very poor but there is no alternative presently. Wolfweb was more usable

In much the same way as the Warrington Guardian, I think their plan is to make the site so unbearable with ads and pop-ups that you end up taking out a subscription to go ad-free. However, I am not (and never will be) willing to pay subscriptions for message boards or news sites, so my two options are to either suffer on or give up. At the moment it's still the former, but I admit that my patience is being sorely tested.

Yeah, I've tried using an ad blocker before, but that proved equally frustrating, as I was forever getting pop-ups saying 'we see you are using an ad blocker, blah blah...'.

This is not just an Ad problem. Most websites have ads. This site is in need of some action. You would have to work hard to find a site slower than this.
