Yeh it was less stressful when we had nothing back in Wilderspool days. Everything we have now massively raised expectations and we have been pretty much poor except the Cup wins. Use to go to games not expecting anything and was a bigger buzz when we won especially against Wigan.

So the board are coming in for a lot of flak for supposed meddling etc. DP was given carte blanche by the sounds of it and a good 18 months and he’s made an absolute hash of it. The board have invested heavily in the academy and are clearly hell bent on getting that right, reading between the lines I think they’re disappointed in Powell’s treatment of some of the youngsters. Yes he gave a few a go but was too afraid to call on them during tough times. I mean it really is poor to say he couldn’t drop two middles when there were youngsters available…..we may have lost but not by 42-6.
