Well, well, well, here's a real shock. NOT! Mr Makinson has his 3 game ban reduced on appeal. Now wouldn't you think with his past handling of his lengthy ban his appeal should have been upheld and now free to play us. The SL discipline system is a farce and may seem a little bias one may think.
The Rl imo is leaning towards a final between Stains v dragons and what a wet dream for them is that. I just pray we can have a fab run in and finally lift the SL championship.

Not surprised that the ban was reduced. Should of been upheld but there you go. What I do find amazing is that his previous recorded particularly against the same opposition was not taken into consideration. I wonder how Tom Lineham feels about this?

You honestly think the SL / RFL want a Saints Catalan final? I think they’d be terrified of it to be honest with the crowd you would expect from it. My guess is they would prefer a Leeds v Saints/Wigan final to put some back in the coffers.

The only consistency the disciplinary board show is consistent leniency towards St Helens. Joke.

Why do the RL need to give Saints or indeed anyone else assistance when we have just lost to Wakefield?

He was late, and seemed to make no attempt to raise his arms (to make a legal tackle), and the result was a clearly outlawed shoulder charge, yet somehow the panel decides:

"The disciplinary panel's summary said the England international had "tried to tackle, but [was] reckless about the outcome"."

So by 'tried to tackle', they mean he made contact with the man, as that's the only part of a tackle he succeeded in...?!?!?

In every high shot at least there's at least an attempt to use an arm in trying to tackle, so will that be used as a mitigation for those in the future too?

Well I was going to add to last weeks thread regarding Hughes ban for late hit then the next week couple of players binned for same offence but not dealt with by the panel. Late hit is late hit simples, you punish one guy for it you have to punish all. Anyway look forward to Saddened reply to this as to why Makinson deserved a reduction.

Come on lads, this is getting borderline redvee behaviour! I agree the disciplinary panel has been a joke for ages, but 2 games and a red card seem sufficient for that tackle.

Nonsense. 3 game ban these days at least. Lineham got 3 for barely barging into the back of someone and 3 games more than Tommeh for the same offence. Commentators keep saying 'yeah but he's not dirty makinson' erm he's grabbed a players knackers (as low as you can get) and then committed a very reckless headshot on a player. What is he going to do next that he didn't mean to?
