Worth noting that the team which beat Wigan at the Magic Weekend was;
Mamo Lineham Goodwin King Charnley Austin Patton Hill D Clark Cooper Hughes Currie Philbin
J Clark Walker Murdoch-Masila Akauola
So, whilst the absence of Widdop is clearly a disappointment, it's not the team sheet that's the problem - it's about which team turns up on the night. Hopefully not the one from the back end of last season.

Come on, we know there is a new one in development give them a bit of slack.
Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Whilst I was sorry to see Goodwin go I'm curious about Gelling on his day I think he offers something a bit different we might even get a ball or two to the winger. I agree with you Captain that we should be better off with the short term injured Widdop rather than the long term injured Brown. Hopefully we will see better form from Currie and BMM and more decent stuff from Philbin, Clark, Austin, Ratchford......
I think our first choice 17 isn't that bad, my reservation is strength in depth but that applies to most teams and banishing the form that we ended on last year
