Pre-Season Friendlies Round Up

With Super League XXIII getting underway on Thursday night our sides have had a mixed bag of pre-season results as they complete their preparation for the long months of competition ahead.

Little can be read into the results of pre-season matches as they are arranged for a variety of reasons. Some are planned as competitive run-outs for the coach to have a look at his stars performing together but many are unlimited substitution games which feature a large number of fringe players and are often arranged to assist some of the games smaller clubs to raise some much needed pre-season funds.

That said, a round-up of pre-season results may be of interest to those looking for their early season prediction competitions.

There are at least two friendlys missing there.
Toronto played a strong Hull FC side secretly behind closed doors in Manchester. Toronto beat them.

Salford also had a first team out to play Toronto secretly at the same venue and just beat Toronto.

Why the secrecy? Are Toronto really a RU team scared of getting exiled?

lol dunno.
No publicity or match post analysis... They were a closed door match. Only knew of the results through the Warrington connection in Toronto.
Hull had there first team playing and beat them while Salford were far more formidable. We saw that ourselves in our first half.

It was at Leeds Utd's training ground. It's not a secret.

Looking at the video, I wouldn't even call this a friendly - it was just 2 squads having a joint training run. No one was in kit - it was bibs vs non-bibs! If you watch the vid, the "tackle" down that left wing was practically touch rugby. Toronto had a proper match against Bradford the next day.

The under 9's that sometimes play at half-time show more ferocity.

You can interpret what you want from the clip.
I can assure you they played a match and Toronto won.
