The roadworks on Kirkstall Road are staring to open up a bit more now, they had two lanes open this morning, the traffic on an evening (I use it every night) starts to drop off around 6.30-ish so it might not be too bad tonight.
Of more concern is the current roadworks on Kirkstall Hill if you are coming from the Kirkstall Rd end, the whole road was closed all day yesterday, overnight and this morning, hopefull it will be open this evening or that approach to the ground will be complete chaos.

Be careful where you park, A lot of streets in Headingley are for permit holders and you'll get a parking ticket. Its hard to get parked between the ground and the high street (Otley Road)
The best place to park is Beechwood Crescent or one of its side streets. Then walk over the railway bridge to the ground (you can see this on Google Maps).
Or, one good option is the many frequent buses from Leeds city centre, that run along Otley Road and get off at the Original Oak and Skyrack pub, have a pint, then walk 10 minutes to the ground. You can get the number 1 bus from Leeds train station, takes about 20 minutes. Other buses are the 28, 95, 97. There is a map outside Leeds Train station that shows you where the bus stops are.

Also worth noting the 50mph restrictions on the 62 just as you get over the lancs yorkshire border if I remember from last weeks trip. Give yourself extra time, always busy on a Friday night anyway.
Never had a problem parking on the road close to Headingley but as BennyC stated check for resident parking signs.
