...people like Wayne Rooney could raise the profile of RL more in one hour than the RFL could do in 100 years. DISCUSS.

I'm not a big fan of Rooney or Man U..quite the opposite..but if they love our game then they're alright with me...whoever they are.

I read that he was Leeds fan in the paper this week along with Paul Scholes.Joey Barton tweets alot about rugby league

Rooney congratulated Leeds.

Barton is a Saints fan but has a soft spot for Wire as his dad played for Town.

Rooney posted on Leeds win and congratulated them....he's known to be a big big fan of the Rhinos. Think him and Scholes wanted tickets for the game.

Joey Barton is another big fan, along win Graham Swan and Freddie Flintoff amongst others. These big, household names can only raise the profile of the game beyond the traditional heartlands.

The RL should have a big, posh Gala night and make sure all these people turn up along with the TV and press cameras.
