Lets just say that controversy doesn't cover it, all it proved is that money talks in some sports. Most experts had Marquez winning by around 3 - 4 rounds, Pacquiao got the descision, the score cards beggared belief ..... Marquez walked out of the arena as soon as the result was announced with the crowd booing the result, thats twice now he's been robbed blind against Pacquiao.
Some of the decisions of late in boxing have been suspect to say the least.

The only way Marquez was going to win was to knock him out.
There's no way the powers that be would jeopardize "The fight of the century" against Mayweather.

Bendo/Guida was great but you can't include the main in that bracket.
As for the boxing, wrong decision yes (I had JMM up by 4) but definitely not robbery of the century or whatever - lot of the earlier rounds were close enough to be given one way or the other. Glen Trowbridge scoring it 116-112 needs looking into mind.

I had Marquez winning 6 of the rounds quite clearly, of the so called closer rounds Marquez would have won his fair share of those as well as he was the one who was landing the better punches. Pacquiao was being forced to miss with a lot of the punches he threw due to Marquez's great footwork where he just stepped back or to the side.
As soon as the first scorecard was read out which was 114-114 you virtually knew what was coming, the score of 116 - 112 in favour of Pacquiao was comical.

Whatever the right's and wrong's of last night's decision, what is blindingly obvious is that if Pacquiao ever gets in the ring with Mayweather then he will be taken apart.

Manny Pacquiao is a fantastic fighter and I wanted him to win last night, but it was a shocking decision. I had Marquez winning every round from 2 - 6 and 2 ahead of Pacquiao in total. As someone said the theme in Boxing at the moment is that the Champion needs to be knocked out and this to me is a joke. A boxing match should be judged on the 12 rounds, not because he is a champion/challenger.
Marquez fought the fight of his life last night and deserved the win, the gross inaccuracy of the judges was laughable and made me think of Sturm vs Macklin earlier this year.
The Marquez camp will lodge a complaint to Nevada Boxing Commission but nothing will come of it and the planning for Mayweather will begin for Pacquiao. I'm sure Floyd was watching last night and the Pacquiao that turned up was very very beatable, getting counterpunched with ease, imagine how vulnerable he'd be against the Best counter-puncher and technical boxer in Boxing.
Hope it gets arranged for May and Marquez gets a chance later.

Boxing decisions over the years are nearly allways controversial but this one takes the biscuit. Pacquiao was mullered and Marquez must be in bits. It's a shame that such a great fight by two outstanding boxers ends up ruined.
