I was a bit hesitant at getting ESPN with their being no deffinate plans to show the NRL next year, i thought i would go for it yesterday seeing as they are showing the NRL semi finals and Grand Final plus United were playing Spurs.

Its far better value than Setanta, if your already a sky sports subscriber its just £9 a month with no fixed contract and you can cancel at anytime you like after 30 days, the added bonus is the £9 includes any room unlike Setanta used to be where they charged you per viewing card so if you have multi room its great value.

The football coverage yesterday was first class, they had Ray Stubbs, Kevin Keegan and Guus Hiddink in the studio with Jon Champion commentating and Chris Waddle as his co commentator. The HD broadcast was first class, with all the vintage challenge cup finals you get and all other vintage sport its well worth the £9 if you don`t already have it.

Will ESPN American be showing the NHL like NASN did?

The Wendyball coverage is essentially BBC coverage, but it's great to be getting the AFL and MLB regularly on the telebox.

I think I'm getting it this week.

The mere fact that it is broadcast in HD makes it 100% better than Setanta.

Setanta's picture quality was woeful.

got it for the united v spurs game. very impressive. much better than setanta. glad they are gonna be showing the nrl too, didn't know that so thats a nice bonus. is there going to be an espn news shows, as setanta did? will have to be much better than the setanta version though to get any where near ssn

If they did a UK version of Sports, it will all over Sky Sports News no problem.

Don't want to sound judgemental, but if you are having to watch Russian domestic football to fill your time, then I reckon you really, really need to be getting out a little more....
