Oldham at Central Park

That was an ar$e twitcher as well - could have gone either way. Great release of emotion at the end as the whole Wire crowd poured onto the pitch. (Can't do that these days !!)

Oldham scored in the dying moments only to have the try rules out. Watching the game on video at home it looked to me as if the try should have stood - I'm sure with a video ref it would have.

Wasn't that the year where Oldham came so close with the RL team losing out in the semis, as did Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup and I think they came close in the League Cup too.

And it was a goddamn awful match....they were a second division side, who we had beat earlier in the season in the Lancashire Cup final....We were actually getting beat at half time (I think)....and only for a couple of moments of inspiration from Mark Thomas, we would have found ourselves on the wrong end of a defeat, as for most of the game we were very lacklustre, and very uninspired.....

It was a very un-Semi final type of match....We seemed to try our best not to win....
