Vehicles are flagged down by passengers in other vehicles, under the pretence of a problem somewhere on the car. Once stationary, the thieves will often use distraction techniques to remove tourists from the vehicle and steal valuable items. Within the Barcelona urban area thieves are also employing this ‘punctured tyre’ tactic at traffic lights in order to distract and stop tourists.

i am, i'm a psychiatric nurse, a very caring person. my description obviously evoked certain feelings and created pre concieved ideas about me! lets hope i have the same effect on the spanish muggers!

i worked the doors to supliment my poor wages in the NHS and to support my wife and 3 kids, oh and so my wife can never say "barcelona, you can't afford to go there" "australia watching rugby, how can we afford that"

i don't have to any more due to a recent promotion at work.

oh the tattoos are an expresion of my rebelious nature and not one of them contains a taz, bulldog or spikey chav pattern!

I would also warn anyone going sunbathing on the beach that they do not leave their possessions at anytime especially if you go for a swim. This will be my 4th trip to Barcelona and on the last 2 visits there have been teams of thieves operating on the beach looking for any opportunity to grab your possessions and run. Once they have done it once give it 15 minutes, half an hour and they are back on the beach again looking for their next victim, you have been warned....

Good info slim stick together in groups if poss another tactic they employ is to get young groups of women to come over and make a fuss dancing etc whilst they riffle through your pockets a few of my mates got chased by pimps on the last visit they had to barcelona because they told the women to **** off when discovering that they simply were not being friendly and just wanted to nick their money.

As the pretenders sang slim i'll have brass in my pocket and no one aint getting my money other than the bar owners.

simple stick together on the beach, at the bars and never walk to your apartments when your steamed on your own.
