I saw plenty of Richie Myler last year, from what ive seen of him on sky he seems like a support player that will finish off moves and doesn`t come across as a creator to me, Tompkins seems to have all the tricks needed to become the far better player out of the 2, he just needs to work on his body strength and to fill out a bit more. I don`t rate Richie Myler in the way some are building him up, i didn`t see anything out of the ordinary last year that would concern me as a Warrington fan.
Richie Myler is great at being on the end of a lot of run-ins, i`ll give him that much that he is a good support player.
But, I take it that you weren't at the Wigan v Whitehaven game, so, were you at the Xmas friendly ? Or have you literally, literally never seen him play, your literally forming your opinion through what you've read & heard.
Look, You & I disagree over Myler obviously. You think he's ordinary, a finisher, not a creater. I think he's much better than that, as I've said, when I watched him his short kicking game was immense, setting up countless tries, and he has got good hands, I always thought he looked a threat will ball in hand. Yes, he's a finisher, I agree, see his England performance for that (which you pooh poohd as they let anyone play, but i've not seen too many 19 year old half backs from the National League called up and play before, and look so comfortable in the game as he did), but 40 tries in your debut season is some going, even if it is at a slightly lesser standard.
Time will tell I suppose, we'll have to leave it there or we'll go around in circles. Oh, last one, it's Tomkins not Tompkins, just so that you know when you see him like.
