I liked what Chambers said about RL being a simple, effort based sport (to paraphrase him). He seems quite a modest chap so hopefully he could get some sort of tune out of our squad til the end of the season. It'll perhaps give our board a bit of time to research some alternatives.

Why didn't Middleton take photos of Pewterspear to show his Missus it is different from Parr.

Holbrook turned us down and someone declared the offer ... Talk about being used to negotiate what you really want .... The club need to learn from this

Thought it was a bit 'convenient' yesterday that a coach's contract offer was somehow leaked. First time I've ever heard this being done. Good agent he's got there though.

I do think that somehow we were falling for the 'this guy is the next holy grail' rhetoric that gets churned out by the club every few years. Love or hate Powell, he does have a history of getting the best out of what he's got, and I'm not sure the next guy will have any miracle cure for our chronic mediocrity. I think it's something that will have to filter down from a new chairman/CEO combination that has a business mindset rather than a fan/RL mindset.

We'll see.

I’ve seen this mentioned a couple of times. He hasn’t turned us down based on money, he’s turned us down because we’re in the UK.

That will have no impact on the value of his next NRL deal as he turned us down on location, not money.
